This week in Chicago, I witnessed a moment that shook my balance. A young lady, just trying to get home with her teen, had violence cross their path. In that car, it wasn’t just them—it was all of us. And it reminded me: Chicago can’t keep seeing these stories like they’re normal. But balance isn’t just tragedy—it’s how we respond. I’ve seen resilience rise from these streets. I know we have the power to shift that narrative. And when we lose someone, we have to hold that weight together and demand that change. It’s time. We can’t wait for peace—we have to build it.
